The "Edler" Rondel Dagger

Rondel daggers were a popular choice on the battlefield for hundreds of years. Their slender yet stiff blades made it easy to pierce maille and find the gaps in plate armor. The simple rondel guards give the holder a firm grip.

This rondel dagger was supposed to be the perfect dagger for a lower class noble, hence the name "Edler" meaning nobleman or lord. Its elegant yet simple design is meant to display power without sacrificing any of its functional capability. Its thick spine keeps the double edged blade stiff and its tip is stout enough not the be brittle without sacrificing its penetrative capability.

The "Edler" shown has stainless steel fittings, ebony handle and a hexagonal peen block. Other options are available such as brass, copper, and mild steel as well as a variety of handle materials.

Price Estimate
  • This dagger would cost around $550
